富山市にある富山ガラス美術館における初の公募展「富山ガラス大賞展 2018」に作品「空間考」が入選いたしました。
作品は9月15日より開催される展覧会にてご観覧いただけます。

 「空間考」

私は目には見えないが存在している“もの”を捉えようと試みている。

それは空間の中にある様々な方向や深度、それらに働く力を捉えることだ。

硝子は空間の中に佇み、光をとりこみ視線を透過させながら自身の存在を確かに、しかし不確かに保持し続ける。

熔解された硝子を塊として纏め引き伸ばすとき、硝子によって凝縮された空間を引き延ばしているように感じる。

硝子の表面を削り硝子のなかに潜んでいる形を立ち上げるとき、物を取りまく空気と物質との境界を探っているのだと感じる。

空気と空間の中にある力の形との臨界は、細やかな起伏によってその距離をより曖昧にし共振するだろう。

空間が静かに秘めている気配の影を追い求める。

《Feeling the Space》

My work captures what cannot be seen by the naked eye. It captures presence of the depth and span surrounding one’s atmosphere, and to present this energy in a form.

When Glass is within a space, it traps light and allows one to see through. Though the presence of glass is certain, at the same time, it is uncertain.

Gathering molten glass, creating a form and by pulling it apart, it is as though I am elongating the compressed space within the glass. Furthermore, by grinding the surface and revealing it’s true form hidden within the glass, it is as though I am exploring the space between the object and it’s surrounding. The fine uneven surface distorts the forces within the divide between atmosphere and space and allows it to resonate with one another.

Forever more, I will continue to chase the silence hidden within the space.

場所：富山ガラス美術館
開館時間：午前9時30分から午後6時まで（金・土曜日は午後8時まで、入場は閉場の30分前まで）
閉場日：9月19日（水）、10月3日（水）、10月17日（水）、11月7日（水）
観覧料：一般1,000円、大学生800円（前売り、団体料金あり）※本展の観覧券で常設展もご覧いただけます。
